Plan to Change

There is a growing obligation on our businesses to adapt to the social and environmental realities of today – responsibilities to our suppliers, to our customers, to our consumers and to our planet.

We are committed to changing our working practices, and bringing our own pressure to bear on our partners, because it is the right thing to do and because it will enhance the depth and quality of our products and services. We have a responsibility to continuously adapt and move forward – to be a leader on this front in our market.

These are the commitments we make now to change the way we work:

  • Environmental impact.
We’ll aim to make our UK operations carbon neutral as quickly as possible. We’ll maximise our use of renewable energy and only use offsetting as a last resort. We’ll help our customers and suppliers to cut their carbon emissions too, where possible.

  • Waste reduction.
We’ll reduce the amount of packaging that we use and increase our use of recyclable materials. Over the medium term, we’ll aim to make sure that none of our product or packaging ends up as landfill. We’ll provide our customers with innovations to encourage them to make these adjustments.
  • Product sustainability.
Our goal is to make sure our key raw materials come from the most sustainable sources available, protecting the environment and our natural resources. Where appropriate, we will promote organic products and broaden our offer to customers and consumers.
  • Fair dealing.
We’ll build on our existing first-class practices to make sure our operations remain socially and ethically compliant. All are open to regular, third-party audit. We recognise that thousands of people in our worldwide supply chain and local communities depend on the success and conduct of our business.
